SAN ANTONIO — The inaugural Alliance of American Football season is quickly approaching, and tickets are now available.

  • Tickets are now on sale for the Alliance of American Football season
  • Range in price from $14 to almost up to $250
  • Hopes San Antonio will embrace a new type of professional football team

They range in price from $14 to almost up to $250, which begs the question: Who is going to pay hundreds of dollars to see a team that hasn’t even played a down of football?

The Commanders said they chose its prices to cater to every type of fan, from families that may only be able to attend one game a season to someone looking for a fancier experience.

There will be a newly constructed field level club, which will include food, drinks and parking, as well as other club and suite options.

The team shied away from comparing its ticket prices to those of NFL teams, but unlike some professional leagues, there is no seat license or required donation needed to be eligible to purchase season tickets.

As far as selling tickets, the Commanders seem to have no doubt that San Antonio will embrace a new type of professional football team.

“It’s really, really easy. Since the day we announced that the team was coming, people have been starved for pro football. It’s Texas and people can’t get enough pro football which I completely understand,” Vic Gregovits, the Commanders team president said. “The excitement and the anticipation, just 54 days away is pretty high. “

“San Antonio is probably in great shape to have another team and kind of a different level team,” Mike Riley, head coach of the Commanders said. “I think it will be a different niche than UTSA or Texas State, but you know how much people here love football and support those schools, so we’d love to be a part of that scene.”

The Commanders will be back in San Antonio in January, along with the other seven AAF teams to for the three-week-long training camp before the season starts in early February.
