Arguably the best meteor shower of the year -- the Geminids -- peaked on Friday with nearly 130 meteors per hour, according to skygazers across the globe.

And this year's event was extra special thanks to the presence of another cosmic traveler, a small emerald green comet named 52P/Wirtanen.

At least one photographer was able to capture both phenomenon in the same scene.
