SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department is investigating what caused a woman to lose control of the SUV she was diving.
- Driver lost control of SUV and hit a palm tree
- Driver was killed
- Passenger in critical condition
Police say an off-duty officer witnessed the crash and called for help.
The SUV veered off of the ramp from I-35 to Highway 281 North shortly after 7 a.m. Monday, striking a palm tree and killing the driver. A passenger was also in the vehicle. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The crash shut down the ramp for hours as police worked to collect evidence. The victims have not been identified.
