SAN MARCOS, Texas - Habitat for Humanity has now opened up the newest ReStore location, this time in San Marcos.

The ReStore funds the missions of Habitat for Humanity by selling donated or new home improvement items. The money from purchases goes to building Habitat Homes, covering administrative costs and operational expenses.
"There's a huge need for affordable housing in San Marcos and there's been only a minimal amount of houses built here and now with the Restore here, and the revenue generated, we're going to be able to multiply the building of houses here in San Marcos," said Vice President of Retail William Stockton.
Donations of useable building materials, lightly used furniture, appliances, tools and other household items are brought in daily.
Celeste and Jonathan Munoz found some holiday decor at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore for their new home in San Marcos. This Christmas will be their first as Habitat homeowners.
"We're really glad to have the ReStore and to be apart of this process and just to be here today is awesome," Celeste Munoz said. "Your donation to the store, by purchasing a product is potentially building a home for a family right here in San Marcos or Austin, and that is a huge blessing for us and our soon to be neighbors."
The Munoz family says Habitat for Humanity has given them opportunities they never dreamed they would have.
"We're no longer three generations in one household and that's a huge stress lifted off of our shoulders. It's a huge blessing. I don't think [Habitat] realizes how much good that they've done in our life and we're super grateful for that," Celeste Munoz said.
They now want to give back to the organization that gave them so much.
"We want to help build the next homes and put hours into their homes. I want to volunteer here, help give back and just continue doing what they did for us," Jonathan Munoz said.
