AUSTIN, Texas – Austin police are asking for help in their investigation into the death of a father who was in town for his daughter’s swim meet.

On December 7, a witness told police her or she found a body in Shoal Creek around 8:30 a.m. First responders located the body on the 800 block of West 6th Street.

The man has been identified as 48-year-old Randy Alan Lexvold, who was in Austin for his daughter’s swim meet. The Travis County Medical Examiner is still working to determine Lexvold’s cause of death.

Lexvold is described as a white man, 6-feet-1-inch tall, 200 pounds, with dark blonde hair, and blue eyes. He also has a tattoo on his right shoulder and was last wearing a Pink Floyd T-shirt with Gap 1969 blue jeans, and blue Merrill trail shoes.

Austin Police Homicide investigators are asking that anyone who might have seen Lexvold in the 6th Street area on December 7 between 1:30 and 8 a.m. to call their tip line.
