SAN ANTONIO – A multiple vehicle crash involving a Northside ISD school bus happened early Friday morning.

According the San Antonio Police Department, a call came around 6:50 a.m. concerning a crash near Wurzbach and Babcock roads.

The school bus was stopped with flashing lights and stop sign out. VIA Metropolitan Transit had a bus stopped behind it. A car in the other lane did not see the school bus until it past the VIA bus, as it was blocking visibility. The driver hit her brakes and caused a chain reaction causing two other cars to crash.

The first car then hit the school bus and slid, hitting a gas main.

CPS Energy arrived on scene and caped the valve.

There are no injures.

Northside ISD Berry Perez reported 11 students from Thornton Elementary School who were on board were taken to campus by another bus.
