In some cases, putting together a costume under budget can be one of the most creative ways to give back.

"This is a fun time at Goodwill. It's one of our favorite months," Penny Benavidez with Goodwill San Antonio said. "Halloween should be fun, it should be affordable, and it should be easy."

Halloween is a popular time to get creative, and at Goodwill everything spooky is marked way down. Goodwill says some costumes are donated in full and ready to go, or come in individual pieces.

"It doesn't have to cost a lot of money; easy, do it yourself, build your own costume that nobody else will have, [make it] unique, affordable. Benavidez said.

Benavidez added when you shop or donate at Goodwill, you're already a superhero in disguise.

"That's because your donations and your dollars are helping us serve our mission to help change lives through the power of work,” she said. “You're providing education, training, and employment services to individuals with disabilities and other barriers right here in our community.”

For shopper Austin Meza, he didn't find his costume, but he did walk out with some decorations.

"I procrastinate way too much and I need to get a costume at the last second," he said. "I think it's great because you never know what you'll find. Everyday is something new around here. They have great deals on non-costume items too.”
