GRIMES COUNTY, Texas – A Texas teen has been hospitalized and another is in custody after playing an internet challenge on Sunday.

A 16-year-old was shot while playing the social media game called “You Lackin,” according to the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office.

Raul Garcia, 17, told police that he and a friend obtained two pistols that day while they were driving around. They then decided to play a game where one person points a gun at the other and says “You Lackin?” The other person then pulls out a gun and says “No.”

Garcia said while playing the game he pulled out a gun and it discharged, hitting the victim in the face. He then told police he threw the pistols out of the vehicle and called 911.

The victim was driven to the hospital where he is in stable condition.

Police arrested Garcia on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which is a second-degree felony. He is currently in custody at the Grimes County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

The pistols, along with other evidence, was obtained by investigators while searching along Farm to Market 149.
