SAN ANTONIO — The first day of "A Night in Old San Antonio" was filled with food, fun and entertainment, celebrating San Antonio's unique heritage.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of NIOSA. Crews spent days transforming the La Villita neighborhood into a huge party fortress filled with Fiesta foods and music stages.

Proceeds from NIOSA go to the San Antonio Conservation Society.

“Now all this money goes back into Conservation Society for their mission of historic preservation and preserving the cultures and the buildings, and things around the area, trying to maintain our culture and our history,” Maggie Arnold, NIOSA Chairwoman, said.

The four-night festival attracts more than 85,000 people each year.
