NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — A man was taken into custody after leading multiple law enforcement agencies on a high speed chase on Saturday.

Authorities say a New Braunfels police officer tried to make a traffic stop on a black Dodge Charger at the 800 block of State Highway 46. The driver refused to stop and made his way to I-10 toward San Antonio.

As he made his way through downtown San Antonio, the suspect exited I-10 at Loop 410 on the south side of San Antonio, and then exited at Hunters Pond. Toward the end of the chase, the driver increased his speed over 100 mph. The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the the entrance sign for a subdivision.

During the pursuit officers noticed the driver was throwing items from the vehicle window. It was later determined the items were meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The driver was identified as 31-year-old Alfred Joseph Bow from San Antonio. He is charged with evading arrest with a motor vehicle, tampering with evidence, possession of a methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. Additional charges may be pending.

No one from law enforcement or bystanders were injured during the pursuit.
