SAN ANTONIO -- In the Alamo City, the holiday season means one thing: lots of tamales.

This year, the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center moved their event to the Historic Market Square to make their annual tamale event bigger and tastier. It was the first time in the event's history that it was held in the new venue.

On top of making delicious cuisine at the Tamale workshop, visitors also enjoyed music and dancing. Organizers said the gathering brings together families ahead of the holiday season.

"We have people who have been coming for all 10 years. They come and enjoy, it's very familiar. We shuttle in people so they can enjoy this event as if it was in their backyard,” said organizer Carino Cortez.

A portion of the proceeds from Sunday's event went to the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center.
