DALLAS — After low ticket sales and a social media debate about safety, T-Pain’s Dallas show has been rescheduled and moved to another location.

The show was originally supposed to take place May 18 at The Factory in Deep Ellum but will now be June 24 at Texas Trust CU Theater in Grand Prairie. Tickets for the original show are valid for the rescheduled date.

On April 16, T-Pain called out Dallas fans on TikTok for only buying 26% of the tickets available.

“What did I do! Let me know what I did! What’s going on? I wore cowboy hats many times. I used to raise horses," he said. "I feel like I’m part of the city. I’ve worn a cowboy hat or two, you know what I’m saying? Regular cowboy and Dallas Cowboys, I’ve done both!”

It didn’t take long for fans to sound off on social media, saying the Deep Ellum location wasn’t a safe spot, citing an uptick in shootings. On April 10, a shooting left two injured, and most recently, on May 13, five people were shot, two of whom died.

The safety claims prompted Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson to sound off on Twitter, reassuring T-Pain not to worry.

“Dallas is the only Top 10 city in the U.S. where violent crime fell last year and overall violent crime is down even more so this year,” he saoid. “So, you and your concertgoers should feel safe here.”

But despite the Mayor’s reassurance, T-Pain decided to move the show.

“Foremost, I want to send my condolences out to the families of people who lost their lives,” T-Pain said on TikTok. “I appreciate you all for giving me a heads-up. Thank you to the mayor for stepping in and trying to reassure me, but we got to reschedule. It’s just that time.”
