Morning hours will be cool enough for a jacket yet temperatures will, in general, run warmer than normal for the next seven days even with a cold front during the middle of the week.  Today's forecast calls for decreasing clouds and afternoon highs near 70.

One storm system is side-swiping NW Texas today but, besides the clouds, it will not bring much impact to our weather here in the Capital City.  As the storm moves northeast, clouds will gradually thin out to sunshine.

Another storm system sweeps moves east from California today towards the middle of the country tomorrow, pushing a fairly weak cold front through the I-35 corridor on Wednesday.

There's a slim 20% chance for rain starting late tomorrow (especially after dark) then cooler air will surge into the region by Wednesday night.  During the transition, gusty winds from the west will sweep through the area, turning breezy as we head to Thursday.

We're in for abundant sunshine during the end of the week, which also marks the changing of the astronomical (or "calendar") seasons.  The Winter Solstice happens at 4:32 p.m. on Friday.

Another gusty, fairly weak cold front arrives with no mention of rain on Saturday.  Plan for a slight drop in temps for Sunday.

As we look towards early next week with Christmas in mind, a disturbance could bring rain to the Lone Star State on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday with daytime temps in the 60s to near 70 degrees.  Stay tuned for updates!
