A mix of sun and high clouds along with seasonable 60s will make this a pretty comfortable day.  We'll look for a high temperature near 70 this afternoon but, first, grab some sleeves!  It's a chilly start out there as most temperatures are in the 40s.

Southeasterly winds come back at us today with gusto.  We expect sustained winds around 10 to 15 mph this afternoon, with a gradual return of humidity from the Gulf of Mexico.  That said, we think it'll feel comfortably dry all day today.

Enough moisture looks to be back in the atmosphere tomorrow that clouds will be prominent tomorrow and, as a weak "shortwave" moves overhead, some showers and isolated storms might break out especially south and east of Austin.  We'll give it a 20% rain chance here at home to close out the week.

Winds will continue to be gusty into the first half of the weekend.  Dry air from the west will help remove the clouds Saturday afternoon, we think, allowing for a huge warm-up ahead of our next cold front.  Some models hint at 90 degrees!  As of now, the front is expected to arrive late Saturday with a 20% rain/storm chance in tow.  It'll bring cool northerly breezes back to town for the second half of the weekend, with temperatures nearly 20 degrees cooler.

We're planning for chilly nights/mornings and seasonably mild days much of next week.  Check out the 7 Day Forecast here online and then be sure to join us for 'Weather on the 1s' on TV or the live stream for more about this active period of weather.
