PLANO, Texas — After pushing the opening date back, H-E-B has finally announced when it plans to welcome customers to its newest store in Plano —  Nov. 2. The news comes just weeks after the San Antonio-based company hosted its grand opening for the first store in North Texas, in Frisco.

In its announcement, the company told customers eager to get their hands on the grocer’s goods that they can begin scheduling orders for H-E-B Curbside starting Monday, Oct. 31 at 1 a.m. Customers can start to pick up orders on opening day and/or up to seven days in advance.

Located at 6001 Preston Road in Plano, H-E-B’s hours of operation are seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Similar to its other stores across the state, the Plano location will span 118,000 square feet and include a full-service H-E-B Pharmacy with a drive-thru, curbside and home delivery services, a fuel station, car wash, and True Texas BBQ restaurant, which was named best barbecue chain in Texas by Texas. Thrillist also dubbed the restaurant top barbecue chain in the nation.

Fans of H-E-B insist its move into the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex was long overdue. As far as the company, officials have revealed plans to open multiple stores in the area. Back in August, H-E-B confirmed details regarding its Mansfield location opening.

“We are excited to officially announce that H-E-B is coming to Mansfield,” said Juan-Carlos Rück, H-E-B executive vice president. “We look forward to providing this dynamic and growing city with the best H-E-B has to offer.”

According to Mansfield Mayor Michael Evans, residents waited years to be able to set foot inside of a H-E-B and now that time will be here before they know it.

“For years our residents have asked for an H-E-B, and on behalf of the City Council, we are proud to welcome this economic driver and much desired business to Mansfield,” Evans said. “With our growing economy and invested community, Mansfield is the perfect home for the first H-E-B location in southeast Tarrant County and we are excited about the continued economic growth coming to our city and the entire southeast Tarrant County region.”

Additional communities set to see an H-E-B include Prosper, Forney and Allen — all identified this year as locations for new stores. Last year, they even announced a McKinney store, reinforcing the company’s commitment to serving communities across Texas. H-E-B isn’t only making moves in and around Dallas, but also in Leander, just outside of Austin. The e-commerce fulfillment center in Leander allows the retailer to serve more customers through curbside and home-delivery orders in Central Texas.

“H-E-B is well known for being an excellent corporate citizen and we look forward to them becoming a valuable part of our community,” said Mansfield City Manager Joe Smolinski.
