AUSTIN, Texas — Austin Pets Alive! is looking for loving homes for its new intakes. Their reason for being there is a devastating one.

Nineteen pups arrived at the Austin Pets Alive! facility after their mothers were left out in the heat and died.

With the heat spilling over into dangerous temperatures, it’s important to be aware of the risk of leaving your pet outside. Austin Pets Alive! reminds pet owners to keep their dogs inside from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., have sufficient water for your dog to drink during walks and never leave your pet in the car unattended.
