DALLAS – Social media vlogger "Smash Da Topic" is entering his prime years chasing down breaking crime and other events around the Dallas area.

"It get in me, it's like an adrenaline rush," said Cyrus Cezar, who goes by the alias "Smash Da Topic."

For a little over three years and counting, Cezar has been able to curate and maintain social media pages that bring news and a little bit of comedy together.

"It's really like The View," said Cezar. "Something like a podcast before everybody started doing these podcasts, I was doing my own show."

Almost every night you can find Cezar and his team riding around the streets while listening to police scanners. Once on scene of an active crime scene, Cezar goes to work deploying his two phones used for live streaming on a variety of social media platforms. Every time he goes live, thousands gather to watch and comment.

"I get crunk," said Cezar. "It's in my blood or something when I get to go live, my veins are popping."

With 300,000-plus likes on Facebook alone, Cezar says his newfound career of chasing crime will never go away as long as the community stays vigilant and perhaps ready for a good laugh.

Earlier this year, the community vlogger met with the Dallas Police Department in an effort to work together to reach a unique audience in hopes to combat crime.

"I'm like the nosey neighbor or the person looking in the blinds, I'm the eyes for y'all," said Cezar.
