WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is inviting the community to celebrate Champs Day on Monday, January 13.

  • The day celebrates Champ’s adoption

Champ is a bull terrier who captured the hearts of lots of people after beating the odds from a tragic incident that left him severely injured. The dog has recovered after being dragged under his Round Rock owner's truck for nearly a mile in August 2019.

Champs Day celebrates that the pup will be officially adopted and no longer in foster status. The special day will also highlight other animals at the shelter.

Champ’s recovery was possible through donations made to the shelter's medical fund known as Jane's Fund.

 

Champs formal adoption will take place Monday at 3 p.m. at the Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace courtroom in Georgetown.

The county is offering free pet adoptions for people who show up wearing a super hero outfit.
