AUSTIN, Texas — Hundreds of people came out to see Austin’s largest annual parade on Saturday.

  • Attendees were encouraged to bring toy donations
  • You can donate at Chuy’s through Dec. 13

This year’s Chuy’s Children Giving to Children Parade featured giant balloon floats, classic cars, and live music. The parade traveled from the State Capitol down Congress to Cesar Chavez.

Attendees were asked to bring unwrapped toys to donate during the procession to support Austin Police Operation Blue Santa.

“Chuy’s considers it a joy and a privilege to stay connected to our hometown through this parade that is not only fun, but also offers support for Austin families in need so they, too, can have a happy holiday season,” said Chuy’s parade director, Brooke Cox. “Over the past three decades, we have collected more than a quarter of a million toys for local children. We’ve been able to do that because of our generous community, the support of our many wonderful sponsors, partners like the APD and countless volunteers who show up year after year to make a difference.”

For those who weren’t able to make it to the parade, there are still a couple more weeks to donate toys. Toys can be dropped off at Chuy’s Barton Springs, North Lamar, 183 and Duval, Round Rock, Arbor Trails, Cedar Park, and Shady Grove locations through December 13.
