Getting excited about a trip to the moon or Mars?
We encourage you to start your space exploration with a visit to the Bullock State History Museum, where a new exhibit called "Beyond Planet Earth" offers a chance to learn about the past, present, and future of space travel.
The interactive experience includes highlights and memorabilia from the Apollo missions, with an original astronaut glove and a tire from the lunar rover, as well as the Hubble Space Telescope and International Space Station.
Visitors get a chance to see full-size models of a Sputnik satellite, a large Russian "Vostok" lander, and the Mars Curiosity rover.
After going through the exhibit, you can test your knowledge to see how prepared you might be for space travel.
In addition to seeing and touching the exhibits, there's also a chance to sniff the moon.
In the above video, the Bullock's Kate Betz tells our Chief Meteorologist Burton Fitzsimmons that astronauts report an odor of spent gunpowder coming from the moon rocks they collected. Go figure!
The exhibit runs through early January.
