AUSTIN, Texas — Capital City Black Film Festival (CCBFF) is returning to Austin for its seventh year.

  • Screening more than 50 films
  • 7th year for the event
  • Sherri Shepherd will be on a panel

The festival takes place August 30 – September 2 at the Austin Convention Center. The event will screen more than 50 films. The filmmakers participating hail from around the world.

CCBFF also offers several panels. Former The View co-host Sherri Shepherd will sit on the panel for The Power of Film to Impact Change. The panel will highlight the intersection of film and politics and how art can influence change.

In the Getting the Green Light panel, people will hear from representatives from Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, Will Packer Productions, and Viola Davis’s JuVee Productions.
