"If one of my kids tries to eat before the next one, they say ‘Hey, we didn’t say a prayer,’” said Joshua Davis Sr., father of the missing toddler.

"He was getting around pretty good, you know 18 months, he was a little mover. Like those diapers they got, Little Movers, he was a little mover,” Joshua Davis Sr. said.

The investigation into what happened to the toddler, known to his family as Junior, is still officially open.

"This is not a cold case. This is an open investigation. We continue to receive leads and tips and we continue to track those down,” said David Ferguson, New Braunfels Police Department spokesperson.

Several people were at the home the night Joshua Davis Jr. disappeared.

The New Braunfels Police Department believes someone who was there hasn’t told the entire truth.

"We firmly believe that someone who was in the house that night has the key. They have the information that we need in order to put closure to this,” Ferguson said.

But the missing child’s father doesn’t see it that way.

"I don’t have any faith in NBPD,” Joshua Davis Sr. said.

"It’s unfortunate that the family is frustrated with the police department. We feel like we have been running down every lead. We have collected an inordinate amount of evidence in this case,” Ferguson said.

New Braunfels investigators want to find Joshua Davis Jr. alive, but believe he's most likely dead.

His father says he won’t give up hope until the day his son is found.

"A parent’s intuition, I don’t feel it in my heart. And some people are like ‘Oh, maybe you’re just not ready to accept that your son is [deceased].’ No, it’s not that. I don’t feel it,” Davis said.
