SAN ANTONIO – A 125-year tradition, Fiesta takes over the city of San Antonio every year, bringing food, drinks, confetti, costumes, flowers, music, and a whole lot of parades.

According to Fiesta San Antonio, the first parade was held in 1891 when a group of women decided to honor the battles of the Alamo and San Jacinto. The women decorated carriages and threw flowers at each other in front of the Alamo. The Battle of the Flowers parade still stands strong and is actually the second largest day parade in the United States.

Millions of people attend the festival every year, and it is a driver for the San Antonio economy.
