Thirty-seven businesses and 56 homes currently remain evacuated, and no new evacuations have been issued since March 15. The underground leak started on February 20 in the 500 block of River Bend, near Williams Drive. Officials said that the area has "unique" soil that slowed down ventilation of the gas, which caused an accumulation of "residual gas."

Atmos crews are using vacuum units to pull residual gas out of the ground and excavation equipment to dig holes for ventilation of the gas.

At the end of March, the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce met with business owners to create a website to list the places that are closed or working remotely.

You can find a list if the closures on the Georgetown Chamber website.
