AUSTIN, Texas -- Hogs are to blame for an early Valentine's Day morning crash on Highway 130.

  • Crash happened early on Feb. 14
  • The hogs were crossing the highway
  • Truck swerved to avoid hitting them, hit a sign

On Facebook, the Austin Fire Department said the hogs were trying to cross the highway when a truck swerved to avoid them and lost control.

The truck hit a sign and the fuel saddle tank was reportedly ruptured in the crash. Austin and Manor firefighters worked together to control the fuel leak. All northbound lanes of SH 130, just south of Hwy 290, were blocked for several hours. The lanes were back open by 10:40 a.m.

The truck driver was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center with potentially serious injuries.
