AUSTIN, Texas – Asian-American female entrepreneurs and creatives got a chance to showcase their work at Missfits Fest.

The festival is the first of its kind produced by Collective Blue and the In Bold Company. Their goal is to break the stereotypes surrounding Asian American women.

Collective Blue CEO Nina Ho said they want show that this community does fit into the creative conversation.

“We decided to create something we wanted to see in the world,” Ho said. “This festival that would broaden the narrative on what it means to be an Asian American woman.”

The one-day festival included galleries of local artists and different panel discussions on topics ranging from Asian media representation and mental health in the Asian-American community. The festival wrapped up with a variety show featuring live music, stand up and a Bollywood Dance workshop.
