SAN ANTONIO —  What’s a football game without a tailgate?

  • First game of season is Saturday
  • Commanders-themed beers offered
  • Shuttle rides to Alamodome

The San Antonio Commanders haven’t played a single game, but Alamo Beer Company already has pre-game and after parties planned for the entire season.

On Saturday, the new Allegiance of American Football league will host its inaugural games. Prior to the Commanders taking on the San Diego Fleet, the Alamo Beer Company is hosting a tailgate.

For convenience and safety, fans can park at the brewery and take a shuttle to and from the Alamodome, all for free. The before and after parties will have all of the brewery’s draft brews available for purchase, and local food trucks will also be serving snacks.

Alamo Beer Company is a team partner and recently debuted two Commanders-themed beers, a light beer and an amber.

"They're both new beers that we have out, and the light beer, we're particularly excited about that, because that is really something special, to have a craft brewed light beer,” said Eugene Simor, Alamo Beer Company president. “So that's starting to roll out there, people are sending in selfies with this great new Commanders amber and commanders light."

The beers will be available to purchase in the stadium during games, and at local grocery stores.
