UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Trevor James Ralston. The driver of the Mini Cooper remained at the scene, and was cited for failure to control speed.

AUSTIN, Texas – A motorcyclist is dead after the driver of a car lost control and hit the rider in South Austin Wednesday morning.

The crash was reported at 7 a.m. at West Oltorf Street and South 6th Street. According to police, a driver of a Mini Cooper lost control and hit the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was then hit by a second vehicle.

Investigators said speed and slick roads were factors in the crash.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Mini Cooper stayed at the scene.
