SAN ANTONIO — San Antonians are gearing up for Saturday’s annual Western Heritage Parade and Cattle Drive.
- Begins on West Houston Street
- Goes through downtown
- Features herd of Texas Longhorns
The parade is one of the events that kicks off the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. Organizers say the goal is to represent Texas’ heritage. The parade features the Fort Hood 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Sam Houston Caisson, Texas Heritage Riders, and a herd of Texas Longhorns.
The parade will run through downtown starting at 11 a.m. It starts under I-35 on West Houston Street, proceeds east to Alamo Street, turns south and ends at La Villita Historic Arts Village.
Saturday’s rodeo events include:
- The Stock Show Stampede 5K Run/Walk, 9.a.m. at La Villita
- Rodeo Wrangler Breakfast, 9.a.m. at La Villita
- Western Heritage Parade, 11 a.m. begins on West Houston Street
- Vaquero Cook-Off, 12 p.m. at La Villita
