LA GRANGE, Texas – The Fayette County Sherriff’s Office Narcotics Canine Unit seized a large amount of cocaine on Monday, according to Sheriff Keith Korenek.

• Driver and passenger from Eagle Pass, Texas
• Drugs have an estimated street value of $ 1.5 million

Sergeant Randy Thumann and K-9 partner Kolt stopped a Ford F-150 on Interstate 10 shortly before 11 a.m. for a traffic violation.

After speaking to the driver and passenger, Thurman became suspicious that the vehicle may be involved in transporting narcotics. He was given consent to search the vehicle, whereupon he discovered approximately 15 kilograms of cocaine behind the rear seat, in the rear floor and under the center console

The drugs have an estimated street value of $ 1.5 million. The driver and passenger, both from Eagle Pass, were arrested for felony cocaine possession and taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
