AUSTIN – A suspect was taken into custody Thursday on charges related to the recent vandalism at James Bowie High School.

A juvenile was charged with felony criminal mischief in the third degree, according to a tweet by AISD Chief of Police Ashley Gonzalez.

The incident caused hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of damage and the breaking of the glass exposed an adhesive that contained asbestos from the original construction of the building.
