AUSTIN, Texas – A North Austin house is completely destroyed after a fire that was heavily impacted by high winds Friday morning.

• All occupants made it out safely

Just before 8 a.m. firefighters were called to Zeller Lane for a house fire. The units spent hours in defensive mode due to the amount of flames.

Crews report that high winds were adding to the fiery situation. Units patrolled the neighborhood looking for other fires that might be caused by embers drifting downwind.

All of the house’s occupants made it out safely. However, the family of three is now displaced after their house was destroyed. 

The Red Cross will help the family find a place to stay.
