AUSTIN, Texas — Both Austin and Round Rock were plagued by several bomb threats Thursday afternoon.

  • Police are continuing to investigate

According to Austin Police Department, they responded to 24 calls for service at various locations. They said no devices have been found at any of them and the threats have not been found credible at this time.

They said they are continuing to monitor the situation.

Round Rock police said they responded to eight bomb threats. Investigators said they are trying to confirm where they came from, but believe some of them may have come from overseas.

Law enforcement agencies have responded to hundreds of bomb threats emailed to businesses and buildings across the country.

San Marcos Police Department responded to a bomb threat at the San Marcos Regional Airport.

The employees were asked to evacuate and officers performed a sweep of the location.  No suspicious items were located and the business returned to normal operation.
