AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Fire Department is investigating a house fire in East Austin.

• Elderly person rescued
• Fire confined to kitchen
• Home on Langston Drive

When fire units arrived, light smoke could be seen coming from the home at 6913 Langston Dr.

Fire officials say food burning on the stove caused the fire. The flames were confined to the kitchen.

First responders rescued an elderly resident from the kitchen. The person was walked to an awaiting ambulance for a medical evaluation.
