  • Second such incident in Central Texas Friday

At 12:17 p.m. Lockhart administration received a snapshot of a social media post detailing a possible threat made against the school. The school was immediately place on lockdown as police secured the perimeter of the school.

As a precautionary measure, Clear Fork Elementary, and Navarro Elementary Schools were placed on lockout, which has since been lifted. The Lockhart Independent School District said that everyone is safe.

The social media post that led to the lockdown turned out to be a stock photo, and not a photo taken by a student.

Earlier in the day, O. Henry Middle School in West Austin was placed on lockout in response to the report of a threat posted to social media. The threat was found not to be credible, and the lockout was lifted a short time later.
