TEXAS – A flash flood watch has been issued for several Central Texas counties as the threat for severe weather surfaces in the forecast for Friday.

A flash flood watch has been issued for the following counties:

  • Bastrop County
  • Blanco County
  • Burnet County
  • Caldwell County
  • Hays County
  • Travis County
  • Williamson County

The watch will remain in effect until 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 8. 

A polar cold front is expected to hit on Friday and bring the chance for hefty showers to 90 percent. The showers will start to ramp up Thursday night into Friday morning.

A band of storms is expected to sweep from west to east across Interstate 35.
