AUSTIN, Texas – University of Texas police are searching for the person who sexually assaulted a student in a dorm late Tuesday night.

- Police believe assailant known to victim
According to the university, the student was assaulted by someone known by the victim at the Kinsolving Dormitory at 10 p.m. The student called police, who activated a UTPD Criminal Investigations Unit.
Students are reminded by the university that sexual activity requires clear consent. A press release to students states that “I don’t want to” is always a good enough reason to avoid doing something the person doesn’t want to.
Student Emergency Services offers help to students who have been the victim of a crime on or off campus.
