AUSTIN, Texas — There is a lot going on in Garrett Wilson's world right now. On Tuesday, his future coach, Urban Meyer, retired from his position at Ohio State. However, Wilson remains committed to the Buckeyes.

  • Plans to play for Ohio State next year

"Coach Meyer, I love him, he was a big part of my recruitment, but I have relationships with coaches at Ohio State all over the board." Wilson said. "Once they hired Coach Day, I feel confident in his ability."

Then on Wednesday, Wilson was presented with his All-American Bowl jersey. He's the first player from the Lake Travis program to be picked for the prestigious all-star game.

"This is something I've been dreaming of since I was able to know what football was," he said.

Next up for Wilson and Lake Travis is a 4th round showdown with Judson High School this Saturday. Last year, the Cavaliers knocked the Rockets out of the playoffs in the 2nd round.

"It was a game until the end and I expect it to be the same this year," Wilson said. "I'm not going to act like Judson isn't one of those teams we look at and our eyes get bigger."

The Lake Travis - Judson game will be on Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Alamodome, the same site where the All-American Bowl will be on January 5.
