TEXAS – A rare late-fall sighting of wintry precipitation in Central Texas occurred this morning before sunrise.

While many were still sound asleep, we saw several reports of a brief round of small ice pellets, resembling hail, which was actually a brief burst of sleet.

Thanks to ground temperatures being too warm -- mostly above 32 degrees -- there was no accumulation.

Interesting and fun to see? Yes. A November record? No. We look back to 1980, when two inches of snow fell in the Capital City that November.
