LAGO VISTA, Texas – Weeks after massive flooding hit Central Texas, debris is still littering the community of Lago Vista while residents work to pick up the pieces.

The city is helping locals with flood recovery efforts by offering assistance until Thursday, November 15. Dumpsters will be left out for the public to dispose of any debris that landed on their properties.

Any debris too big for residents to move will be picked up by a response team. Residents are advised to move the large debris to the edge of their property and call City Hall with their address to deploy the team.

Mandatory evacuations were issued for Lago Vista residents on October 17 as Lake Travis continued to rise. Numerous homes flooded as residents were left helpless against the flood waters.

The current population of Lago Vista, a city in Travis County, is 6,627 people.
