AUSTIN, Texas -- Austin Water has become aware that some customers are receiving calls claiming that water filters are required before tap water can be consumed.
Austin Water provided the following information to customers:
- Customers should beware of fraudulent calls regarding water filters
- There is no requirement to filter the water that you are receiving from Austin Water
- All three water treatment plants are providing water that is safe to drink
- Customers can receive water from any of the plants since they are connected with a series of pump stations and reservoirs
