KINGSLAND, Texas – As floodwaters continue to rapidly rise along the Llano River, a heavily trafficked bridge collapsed while locals watched in awe.

The Ranch to Market 2900 bridge was washed away due to the power of the water around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

With the bridge destroyed, drivers will have to take a 36-mile detour in and around Kingsland.

People who live along the Llano River are being told to seek higher ground as the river crested at historic flooding levels.
