AUSTIN, Texas - With just weeks to go before the midterm elections, Republican Gov. Greg Abbott is burying Democratic challenger Lupe Valdez in campaign cash. He's also got a 20-point lead in the latest Quinnipiac poll released Thursday.

But Valdez said she’s still fighting.

“If all the polls were correct all the time, we’d have a female president,” Valdez said.

Valdez’s campaign recently reported raising $680,000, with $303,000 left in the bank. Texans for Greg Abbott raised $5.7 million in the same period and has $26.8 million in cash on hand.

While Abbott has been airing TV ads statewide, Valdez has yet to get in the ad game. When asked if she’ll go up on TV, she responded it’s "more than likely."

“The plan has come up that we will. I think we’ll be able to do that,” Valdez said. “But there’s other ways of reaching voters. TV is good, but it’s not the only method.”
