AUSTIN, Texas – As thousands of music lovers flock to the city for the Austin City Limits music festival, the three-day event promises performances from some big names and a whole lot of food.

Weekend two of the event is from October 12 through 14.

Can you still buy tickets?

Surprisingly enough you can still purchase tickets. However, only one-day weekend two tickets are on sale for $100 on the ACL website.

There is also a verified ticket exchange website for people selling and looking to buy tickets last minute.

What items are prohibited?

Several new items are prohibited this year along with restrictions of other items, like the types of bags that will be allowed. Bags are restricted to small purses, totes, or drawstring bags. The size must not exceed 14 inches by 11 inches by 5 inches.

All attendees are subject to complete searches by security prior to entering the festival, including a full body pat-down and metal detector search.

  • Glass
  • Liquids
  • Drones
  • Coolers
  • Frisbees
  • Umbrellas
  • Hammocks
  • Any weapons
  • E-cig or vapes
  • Illegal substances
  • Aerosol containers
  • Camping equipment
  • No inflatable furniture
  • Skateboards, bikes, scooters
  • Large chains or spiked jewelry
  • Profession audio or video recording equipment

What can I bring to the festival?

While many items are prohibited there is still a long list of things that are allowed.

  • GoPros
  • Strollers
  • Cameras
  • Binoculars
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug repellant
  • Blankets, towels
  • Empty water bottles
  • Prescription medication
  • Totems or flags under 12 feet tall
  • Hydration packs are allowed but it must be empty

Can I leave and come back?

Anyone with a ticket is allowed to enter and exit the festival up to three times each day. The ticket holder will have to be searched each time they re-enter the park.

How do I get to the festival?

Parking will be limited as several roads will be closed for ACL. However, there are other options to get to the festival safely.

ACL is offering complimentary shuttle rides for those who want to skip the parking headache. The shuttle boards at Republic Square Park on the corner of 4th and Guadalupe Streets. The drop off will be on Barton Springs Road outside of the West entrance. Shuttle rides begin at 10:30 a.m. and made their return at 11 p.m.

Lyft is also offering $1 off rides along with free stuff at a Lyft Lounge set up outside of the festival at the Park Condos.

How do I avoid traffic?

With so many people planning on attending the event, parking will be prohibited surrounding Zilker Park.
