AUSTIN, Texas — Protesters blocked off the South Lamar bridge for about three hours in Downtown Austin on Saturday.

They gathered at the bridge to protest the appointment of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. They said they feel ignored by the powerful in Washington and that's why they took their anger to the street.

"We don't have power and so we are out here because we are exercising the only rights we have," Madeline Detelich said. "We have our bodies still."

Protesters say they're concerned about the policies he stands for, and what his confirmation means for the safety of women in this country in the future.

In the end, 15 protesters blocking the road were all taken into custody by Austin Police.
