SAN ANTONIO – Some of the country's bravest heroes are embarking on a trip of a lifetime.

Every year, Honor Flight San Antonio offers heroes a free trip to visit Washington D.C. World War II veterans, Korean War Veterans, and those who fought in Vietnam, are flying out the San Antonio International Airport on Friday.

Together the veterans will pay tribute to the war memorials dedicated to those who have sacrificed it all. This year, 40 men and women have packed up their bags, ready to head east to the capitol.

During the two-day trip, the veterans will pay close attention to the World War II memorial. They will also get a chance to make stops at many other sights around D.C.

When they return to the Alamo City, the heroes will be greeted with a celebration in their honor.
