AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police are releasing new information concerning an apparent homicide that took place this past weekend.

Officers say they found Harold Parham's body in the middle of a fire between Slaughter and William Cannon at a homeless camp over the weekend.

An autopsy the next day revealed that Parham had died from a penetrating wound.

Officers revealing that earlier that day another fire was started in the area.

The person that is believed to have started that fire has been arrested and is a person of interest in Parham's death.

"That's one part of the investigation we're looking into,” Sgt. Eric De Los Santos with Austin Police Department said. “Are they related because they're in close proximity to each other and this community that lives in that particular area? They all know each other so was there an argument amongst a group? It's a possibility that we're certainly looking at."

Officers say one of the biggest challenges in the case is locating the people involved and getting them to talk.
