AUSTIN, Texas -- New poll results show nearly 75 percent of Austin residents would welcome Major League Soccer to the city. 

The survey of 400 likely voters was paid for by Precourt Sports Ventures.

The group owns the Columbus Crew, a team they would like to bring to Austin. The plan is to build a privately-funded soccer stadium at McKalla Place, located just south of the Domain.

The Austin City Council is scheduled to discuss the future of MLS in Austin during a work session on Tuesday.
