SAN ANTONIO — Former Governor and now Energy Secretary Rick Perry made a quick stop to San Antonio on Friday.

Perry toured the Center for the Intrepid at Brooke Army Medical Center. He met with medical experts to discuss how the Energy Department can help vets and soldiers dealing with post traumatic stress disorder and mild traumatic brain injury.

During a brief media availability, Perry talked about the deadly bombings that spanned from Austin to Schertz. He credited Gov. Greg Abbott for his leadership and praised the brave men and women in law enforcement.

“Its tragic event for we lost two lives and other people that were injured, but, relatively speedy and professional work ended a sad situation,” Perry said.

Perry also commented on the recent rumors he might be the new VA Secretary. Perry said he's quite happy and has plenty on his plate.
