AUSTIN, Texas — The City of Austin has released its map of planned closures for South by Southwest 2018.

The street-closure map for the 2018 “Spring Festival Season,” as the city calls it, is going to create major headaches as it does every year in the downtown area.

Closures will go into effect Friday, March 9, starting at 7 a.m. until Sunday, March 18, at 11:45 p.m.

Full closures on the following:

  • Sixth Street from Congress Avenue to Interstate 35
  • Brazos Street from Fifth to Seventh streets
  • Red River Street from Fifth to 10th streets
  • Sabine Street from Fifth to 7th streets
  • Trinity Street from Fifth to Sixth streets and from Fourth to Cesar Chavez streets
  • San Jacinto Boulevard from Fifth to Sixth streets
  • Rainey Street from Driskill to Cummings streets

In addition to the closure map, City Stage (the city’s branded events site) has an interactive map where one can filter festival travel information by date and select data layers, including applicable Capital Metro routes, special routes, stops, and locations of Austin B-Cycle kiosks.
